Being part of OPSEU/SEFPO Local 388 means more than paying dues — it means having a real voice at work. When members get involved, we build power, protect our rights, and win improvements for everyone.
🗳️ Run for a Role
Elections for union positions happen during General Membership Meetings (GGMs). Every member in good standing has the right to run or nominate someone.
- Local Executive Committee (LEC): President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Trustees
- Shop Stewards: Frontline reps in your workplace
- Delegates & Alternates: Represent our Local at OPSEU Conventions and Regional Meetings

🧑🏫 Attend Education & Training
OPSEU/SEFPO offers workshops, courses, and leadership training throughout the year. Members in good standing can apply to attend, with registration approved through your Local Executive Committee (LEC).
🔑 Note: Training opportunities are region-specific. Local 388 belongs to Region 3.
📢 Join Campaigns
Our union is active in campaigns like Worth Fighting For, which push back against underfunding and demand respect for workers and communities.
Ways to take part:
- Share campaign news with coworkers
- Attend rallies and actions in your area
- Speak to your MPP about the issues

Solidarity starts small:
- Check in on coworkers
- Encourage new hires to sign their membership form
- Bring issues forward to a steward
- Respect confidentiality when someone shares a workplace concern
